REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT CLOSES ON 1/22/20 AT 12:30 PM EST.
The topic of 2019 was recycling – what is happening to it, how sustainable is it, and how can we improve it? It was not just the solid waste industry asking these questions either. Local communities, municipal leaders, state and federal officials, and anyone concerned with recycling have been discussing how we got where we are and where we are going. With the turn of a new year, join SWANA as we look to the future of recycling.
This webinar will look at recycling from multiple angles. First, a representative from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will talk about the work they have been involved in, including bringing together numerous stakeholders to create a National Framework for Advancing the U.S. Recycling System, committing to set a voluntary national recycling goal, and showcasing innovative recyclers. We will then take a look at the legislative landscape, including major bills that have been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate to help support recycling. Finally, we’ll discuss the importance of markets and how they have affected the recycling industry with a look at trends on the horizon.
This webinar is an excellent way to start off 2020 for anyone interested in the state of recycling today and where it might be going over the next year.
