Social media has become the new standard for communicating these days. According to the Pew Research Center 81% of Americans use YouTube, 69% use Facebook, 40% use Instagram, and 28% use LinkedIn. TikTok has 100 million monthly active users despite it being the newest platform on the scene.
Social media is an incredible tool at your disposal to engage people around recycling, composting, and other sustainable initiatives. But using social media in an engaging and inclusive way can be difficult, especially when you have to engage a variety of stakeholders around a common issue for different reasons.
Needless to say, technology isn’t going anywhere. That’s why the SWANA Communication, Education, & Marketing Technical Division has brought you three panelists who are experts at doing exactly that. These panelists communicate initiatives through podcasts, social media, and more all for the greater good of recycling more and wasting less. They’ve also worked with leading technologies to deliver messaging in new and innovative ways. Each panelist will be giving a five-to-ten minute presentation and we will leave plenty of time for Q&A.
