This publication is part of a series for the Municipal Solid Waste Innovative Technology Evaluation (MITE) Program. The purpose of this study was to to examine methods for improving glass container market recovery rates. The publication includes four case studies evaluating new methods for reducing mixed-color cullet in glass recycling programs. In addition, an extensive review of current literature, as well as a survey of SWANA members, materials recovery facility (MRF) operators and customers, government officials, and research/engineering firms is included in the Appendix.
