Due to their low fuel efficiencies and daily use, recyclables collection vehicles are a significant source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This research memorandum finds that single-stream recycling, along with other methods that reduce collection frequency, will result in GHG reductions, as well as reduced fuel costs.
